Boil Water Advisory Rescinded for a portion of the City of Edgerton, for customers located in Dougla
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a boil water advisory for a portion of the City of Edgerton public water supply system for city of Edgerton customers located in Douglas County.
The advisory was issued for those Douglas County customers within the following boundaries:
- 56 Highway/N 200 Rd from E 2300 Rd/33 Highway to E 1900 Rd
- N 100 Road from County Line Road west to E 2200 Rd,
- E 2300 Rd/33 Highway from Woodson Rd north to 56 Highway/ N 200 Road.
This DID NOT IMPACT water customers in the residential core of the City of Edgerton.
The advisory was issued because of a loss of pressure related to water tower maintenance.
Public water suppliers in Kansas take all measures necessary to notify customers quickly after a system failure or shutdown. Regardless of whether it’s the supplier or KDHE that announces a boil water advisory, KDHE will issue the rescind notice following testing at a certified laboratory.
Laboratory testing of drinking water samples collected from the City of Edgerton indicate no evidence of bacteriological contamination and all other conditions that placed the system at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be resolved.
